Robert Proffitt is a New York State licensed architect with more than twenty-five years of experience in design, code consulting and construction. In 1991 Mr. Proffitt founded Robert Proffitt Architects. He has been involved in the development of some of New York City’s most prominent buildings such as the World Financial Center, Museum of Art and Design, Georgetown Hotel, The James Hotel and New York Yacht Club.

From 2015 to 2017, Mr. Proffitt was the operations Manager at Metropolis Group, Inc. In this capacity he uses his experience in developing Metropolis young talent and ensuring that business operations are efficient in terms of using as few resources as needed and effective in terms of meeting customer requirements. Mr. Proffitt also manages several of the most complicated projects, helping shepherd the client’s projects through the municipal filing process and provides code and zoning analysis.

From 2012 to 2015, Mr. Proffitt was the Director of Architecture and Engineering for Pink Stone Capital Group, where he was responsible for developing Pink Stone’s architectural and zoning plans for development projects and potential acquisitions. While at Pink Stone, he developed Wearhouse 180, a new apartment building in Dumbo, Brooklyn; The Graywood, a 22 story apartment and commercial building in Manhattan and 111 Washington Street, w 55 story commercial and residential building.


For eight years Mr. Proffitt has taught Design Planning and Construction at New York University's Preston Robert Tisch Center. He is a member of various institutions, including The American Institute of Architects, The New York Society of Architects, The Structural Engineers Society of New York, The New York Academy of Science, and The National Fire Protection Association.
